  • Monkey boy.

Ross and I call TK our Monkey boy because he's always climbing up, swinging off, or
jumping on SOMETHING, so when I saw these monkey wall graphics at One-Up Wall Designs (on Etsy) I thought  that they'd be perfect for his bedroom, they arrived today so we put them up right away:

(the painting next to them is a painting that I did when I was pregnant with TK)

TK chatting to the bottom monkey:

The monkeys are meant to alternate left and right and have the next monkey hanging from the previous monkey's lower hand, but TK wanted them hanging from each other's tails, so that's what we did.

  • blood donation...

I mentioned that I donated blood on Tuesday.

Here's the resulting bruise, taken on Thursday:

    Impressive, no?

  • I've been having this conversation a LOT recently.

I tell people that I made beads as a hobby, and show them an example, a necklace or a bracelet.

And they say "oh pretty, where did you get the beads, they are really different."

and I say "I made them."

    "You made the bracelet?"

    "and I made the beads."

    "You made the beads?"

    "Yeah"

    "How?"

    "Well, I melt the glass."

    "You melt the glass?"

    "yeah."

(... and that's when they stop believing me and kinda zone out.)

  • 132cms.

TK came back from his 9weeks away 132cms tall. I'm not sure how tall he was when he left, but I think he's grown at least 10 - 15cms while he's been away.

(I know this because TK is in a wedding party this coming weekend and I had to measure him for the suit).

I'm 152cms tall, so he's only 20cms shorter than me now.

Man! He'll be taller than me before I know it!

By the way, TK woke up at about 5ish this morning, so I'm pretty pleased with that. Tonight I'll try and get him to bed at 8ish, and see if he'll sleep through the night.

    .

  • He's home....

.... and he said he wasn't tired:

But he also said he didn't sleep on the plane which departed Singapore nearly 24hrs ago.

I tried to keep him up as long as possible, but I went to cook dinner (early, at 5.30ish) and came back into the living room to him sound asleep on the sofa.

We moved him to the spare bed in the living room, and have left him be.

I just hope he doesn't wake up at 2.30am!

  • *gasp*

    It's offical.

    I'm getting old.

I found my very first grey hair today.

    Just the one mind.

    Hidden away on my temple.

    But still.

    A grey hair non-the-less.

    .

On our last night of freedom (before TK returns)

Ross and I are going to donate blood.

(we are both O negative, the universal donor).

    .

Then we have to be up at 5am

    (urgh!)

To meet TK and his Dadda at the airport.

    Hurrah!

  • TK is on his way home!

after 9 weeks away, TK is finally on his way home!

He doesn't get to Melbourne until 6am Wednesday,

but he's got a few hops to do.

    Nigeria - Amsterdam.

    Amsterdam - Singapore.

    Singapore - Melbourne.

    Hurrah!

I've taken the rest of the week off work to spend with him.

I can't possibly send him to school after 48hrs worth of flying.

(well, I could. But I'd be really mean).

  • Juno...

    I really loved this movie.

    Go see it.

    (if you haven't already)

    (or go again)

(you know, if you have. Seen it.)
