So...
...Ross and I have been looking for a new car. We thought we'd found one last weekend, but it turns out it wasn't the car for us. (It's a long story, don't ask.)
Each car we see we have to run it through the mental list of things we want in a car, and if it ticks all those boxes it's getting the bonus questions: "Will a car seat fit in the back of this? Will a pram fit in the boot?"
As most of you know that I've had two miscarriages this year (and I've got an appointment with a specialist in January which is good news. I am hopeful that he'll be able to help us stay pregnant.)... but anyways, I must admit I'm finding the whole looking for a new car experience depressing.
Today I got really excited... "Oh, I could have a VW Beetle. I've always wanted a V-Dub! Ever since I was a kid! Look at this one, it's great!" links and photos are being emailed to Ross "OMG, no I want this one!"
Of course he's much more restrained "Will I fit in one? Will a baby seat fit in the back? Will a pram fit in the boot?"
Oh yeah, I can't have a baby.
It's not rational. I know that. If I was pregnant, we'd be answering the same questions!
The fact that it's irrational and stupid is making me even more sad.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a slightly funky, smallish (but roomy), car that a baby seat and a pram will fit into...

It annoyed me to no end watching my ex slip easily behind the wheel of his gf's Bug after giving me crap about my Neon. (Remember, he's 6'5" and at the time was probably almost 300 lbs.) He swore he was perfectly comfy in the Bug, while my Neon coupe would have him bitching for days.
He also got Conor's car seat into the back with no problem. However, Conor is only five... Ok, so he's the size of an 8 y/o... How big is TK?
I recommend thinking positively and borrowing a friend's baby seat/pram when/if you seriously consider a car, to test for sizing. And I really hope the specialist is helpful!
TK's big enough not to use a car seat any more, so the only car seat we'd need in the back would be for a baby, TK would however need to be able to sit in beside the car seat from time to time, if all 4 of us where in the car. Most of the time however it'd just be Me, TK and the hypothetical baby.
@deevaa - Heh. Then take TK with too and see how much leg room he'll have.
I was gonna suggest you look into Kia Cee'd as an option. They are smallish yet roomy. And not too pricy even as new. A seat would fit in the back, leave room for TK and the boot's good sized. However, it lacks the funkiness you're looking for in a car...
Anyway, I hope you find the perfect car. And most importantly I so wish you could get and stay pregnant... *hugs*
Ps. The bracelet I bought from you was again well admired this past weekend.
