Healesville Sanctuary
Today Ross and I took TK and his friend Jordan to Healsville Sanctuary.Healsville is about an hours drive from our house, maybe slightly longer (or maybe it just seemed longer due to the two 11yr olds in the backseat!)
We arrived in time to eat lunch and then go directly to the 'Birds of Prey' show.
This lovely fella wasn't allowed to fly, but the other birds we saw, were. And they swooped so low over the crowed that you could feel the swoosh of their wings on the way by.
TK and Jordan were nervous that this emu might peck them on the nose, he (she?) really seemed to be eye-balling them.
Cavorting in front of the Kangaroo area.Another emu in a different area of the park.
TK spooning a kangaroo... there is something wrong with that statement.
TK riding a brass emu while Jordan spoons the Kangaroo... ummm....
There where many more animals, Echidna's -- which I was rather fond off -- a Reptile Enclosure, Platypus, Dingos, Wombats, Tasmanian devils, Koala's, Wallabies, Goanna's ... loads of birds, bats...
... and after a shaky start, a great time was had by all!

heh...love TK's body language in that first emu picture. he's so ready to duck out of the way. :]
@slinky - evenI am taller than she is so it's not difficult LOL
I've been to Healesville Sanctuary!! It was great. I loved it. Looks like the boys loved it too.
@light_and_fluffy - you think you are funny, huh?
LOL
No, TK is not yet taller than me, although his friend Jordan wouldn't be far off.
Lucky, you are right, I think the emu totally gave him a case of the 'be very, very nervous...'
Really helpful data, lots of thanks for the post.
