  • Last weekend I brought myself some much needed new work shoes.

I brought some really funky, yet really comfortable  (very flat, and not all that sexy I might add) shoes.

I’ll find a picture of to show you in a bit. But for this to make sense you need to know that they don’t come far up my foot, only just covering my toes, with some little punched out patterns, and a strap that goes over mid-foot.

Now, this morning (being reasonably cold) I’d have worn them, but couldn’t find any clean sock-y things to wear in them other than a grey pair - and because they are so low on my foot, you can see the skin/sock colour. Grey socks, with black trousers?  I don’t think so.

If I wear anything other than flesh tone in them, I choose black.

So my feet are now encased in my grey sock-y things and smushed into my much more formal and high on my foot so you can’t see the colour of my socks, stiff old work shoes.

My feet where already screaming to me “what’s with these shoes? What happened to those great comfy things you wore yesterday huh?!”

Once you start wearing comfortable shoes, it's all over, I can't go back to sexy shoes, or super high heals.

  • some things are worth the sacrifice. . .

  • Note the Freudian slip in your spelling there: "superhigh heals" as opposed to "heels" your unconscious is telling you that sexy superhigh shoes do not damage but HEAL the self-esteem. if your subconsiouc had to decide between comfort and sexiness it'd go for sexy everytime. *tsk* youcan try and get old maidish on us deev, but something deep inside you is fionf to be kicking and screaming over it

  • LOL (and my 'subconsciouC' just plain has TRIGGER HAPPY TYPO FINGERS! fionf??? read "GOING" obvious isn't it?)

  • LOL, was going to fix the typo, but will leave it now. ha.

  • Mmm, there is nothing so wonderful as a nice, comfy pair of shoes.

  • I wear Reef Brazil flip flops nearly every day of my life and today I wore some loafers and OMG! did it hurt my feet (and these are really good, really comfy loafers). Feet - much like information - want to be free!

  • 'sup pumpkin?  i'm sooo behind in my xanga reading.  ::giggles at "behind"::  i just looked down there and saw that lil man of yours.  dang he's handsome!  keep all them ho's away from him, ya hear!?!

  • comfort is everything when it comes to shoes. . . . I suppose that's why i never wear sexy ones either!

  • Well cuteness or comfort.  I usually decide on the first.

  • Converse.  Classic Chuck Taylors.  I couldn't live without them.  In fact, I almost went nuts when I couldn't wear them in the last months of pregnancy.

You need some really cool socks so it doesn't matter if they show or not.

  • I can only wear ~some~ shoes...orthodics no fun. What I really miss is my cowboy boots! Free the piddies!

  • My favourite shoes at the moment would have to be my knee highs, because they have the comfort factor to them (as far as I'm concerned they are soooo comfy), but can start to hurt after a long day (I mean when do your feet ever not hurt after a long day), and they are sexy too. I usually team them with my black pants though, to take the tart out of them, but great for going out too. I love my boots!!

  • What's wrong with grey socks under black trousers? I do it all the time.

    Yes, I'm dumb.

  • ...universal truth, makes me wonder why it takes us so long in the move. Do we like pain?
...this is all the catching up I can do today. Knew coming in that I'd be here awhile. Hate missing you - darn, darn, darn! MuSe
