  • I was nice to the finance manager at work and he helped me with the details on what I need to do get the info for the tax dept.

    So, I can now enter the competition.

    If I want to.

    I think I do. Everyone I've showed the painting too in person has literally said 'wow' when they saw it. I feel good about it.

    I'm going to try and find out where I can get slides made of the painting, because of the glare issue from the gold leaf, I'm thinking getting a professional photographer to to the photos/slides might be a good idea.

    The finance manager at work didn't know I paint and went through my entire website while I was in his office, picking out paintings he liked. Unfortunately all the ones he really liked where sold, but he said he wants to buy one. Yay.

    He really liked the dove I did for Femme&Liberty, so I might do another small peace dove to thank him for helping me get my ABN. (I've no clue what ABN stands for by the way, I just know I needed one).

  • It stands for Australian Business Number. You need one of them to be eligible to pay and receive GST. You will be selling your painting, so what you receive will attract 10% GST. You have to pay that to the government. I've just been through all of this to set up Cunning Edge Media. It's not a lot of fun.

    You should definitely enter. Get yourself out there and be seen!
