  • A round up blog:

Oneka asked about 'the job' - I got the phone call yesterday afternoon. I didn't get it the job, but I knew that already. What is interesting is what the recruitment consultant said to me:

"they choose another person who had more packaging experience than you have."

(the job was design/layout work for packaging and labels.)

"Oh OK - well thanks for letting me know."

"I have to be honest and say that I wouldn't have picked that person for that job."

    "Really?"

"Yes, but never mind I'll keep my eye out for something for you. This one might be open again in a few months."

    "Ah, Thanks."

*speechless* I mean really, what are you meant to say to something like that?

legs4daze asked about a painting in one of the shiny happy photo's I posted below. I think she's talking about the heart that is hanging on the fridge. That's one I did for the postcard project that I liked so much I decided not to give it away (selfish huh?). One day I might get a little frame for it.

And finally - the 'Ajvar', the eggplant and red pepper dip I made yesterday.
Oh it is so yummy. I tasted it part way through and thought it was so disgusting that I nearly threw it out. But I kept on until the dish was finished and goodness me, did I say it was yummy?

If anyone is interested I'll post the recipe.

  • ok...cool...It looked to me like the heart was surrounded by words...I thought maybe it was a colage (oops..spelled that one wrong!!) about love....

Maybe I just gave you an idea??

The right job will come along, keep your chin up!!

  • Oh its surrounded by the 'romance' and 'java' set of magnetic poetry, so in a way I guess it is a collage.

Every now and again we write each other little love notes on the fridge.

  • I'm sorry you didn't get the job. But I'm sure a job "made for you" will come along soon enough. At least I hope one will!

Oh, and the magnetic poetry thing on the fridge, what a nice thing to do. Mind if I borrow your idea?

  • Sorry to hear about the job. What a bizarre conversation, but it sounds like you have a fan. Make the most of it!
