Untitled, May 2002.
On recycled canvas
20" x 20"
(by me)
I had been working on this for about 4 days and it just wasn't working for me. This morning I decided to give it one more days work, and if it still didn't work I'd trash it.
So having decided that if it flopped it was trash anyways I totally took too it, I repainted her skin (from purple) to almost 'skin' tone, I recoloured the background (added the red)... repainted her eye, her nose... actually the only thing that remain the same are the earrings, the hair and the dress.
The colours aren't 100% in the photo though, the photo I do have that is closer in colour match there is too much glare from the gold leaf.
So, what do you think, is it working yet?

i think it looks good! i'm a sucker for a 'modigliani' neck, though...
and the colors are working.
I love the colours, Dee. The whole painting is great!
I am really liking this!
don't give up on it, it's good
yes yes YESSSSSS!!!
( i love her hair and the curving lines, sensuous shapes ~ lovely! )
I love her face, hair and dress! The neck is cool, too. Very stylized.
Very Pretty.. says "Paris" to me.. she looks soft and dainty, cultured, yet simple, with a 'where shall I go' look about her. But that's just my take
