today we had a 'spring' storm..
Wind gusting up to 110 knots, the seas in Cook Straight (the body of water between New Zealand's North and South Island) had swells of up to 8 metres, (there is 3.3 feet in a metre) and it poured with rain.
The Ferry was cancelled, not even the crew wanted to travel for 3hrs in a huge swell.
Driving up the motorway (which curves around the harbour) the car was being lashed with wind and rain, and waves were breaking up over the road. *pulls a face*
ahhh, spring.

Wow!
*shudder* And I complain about our weather in England!
I LOVE that kind of weather!
definitively...the joys of a warm and quiet Spring day...
*suddendly feels a little sea-sick*
I drove down the coast of California once when the storm was so hard that waves were crashing up, onto the road. It was scarey since the road was at least 10 feet above the shoreline. Please stay safe and well.
WILD ride, Dee....
Hang ON!!!!!
be safe, love. i checked my world map to get some perspective. geography's never been my strong point but i've always loved looking at the names of places when i know someone there or some event that just happened. we're on total opposite diagonal points from each other on a flat map but you said cook straight and now i know something abt where you live, on the other side of the world. i know there's a 3 hour ferry from island to island. that the spring is in october and is stormy. i love the f*cking internet.
bundle up tight and TK too...
We had a storm today, too!!! Yikes!
