Surprise!
My best friend, Sarah, just had her 2nd baby. A wee boy.
Here is part of the email she sent "Well we have a new baby boy (yet to be named). He was born at 12.51pm today and as the contractions only kicked in properly at 12.20pm there was no midwife or ambulance here and certainly no time to get to the hospital so (husband) delivered him on the lounge floor. The ambulance arrived 5 minutes later followed by the midwife 10 minutes after that!"
How cool and amazing is that?

My wife who spent 12 hours in labor and 5 hours pushing before they cut out our first child would not think that was cool at all.
Wow, that's damned quick! Good thing hubby was there!
Wow! That is amazing. Not many can say they were delivered by their dad...
But that kind of sounds like how my sister came out: FAST! My mom though made it to the hospital because, at the time, we were living right next to one.
Congrats to Sarah and rest of the family!
wow..it is so great to witness and take part of birthing a baby... my middle daughter had us in the birthing room when she had her first child...and it was an awesome experience... so i know your friend's hubby is so estatic and he will have a special bond with that child... i know parents can't pick favorites, but he will be closer to child #2 for delivering it...hugs..
The whole thing you state seems terrific that is the thing I meditate
