  • New Glasses

I brought myself some clip-on lenses for my bead making, they filter the UV (ultra violet), near IR (infrared) and sodium flare that comes off the glass in the flame, and therefore protect my eyes, however the lenses are pretty heavy and pulled my glasses down my nose making them impossible to wear.

So today I headed off to the optometrist to see if they could help me.

The woman in there helped fit my glasses tighter behind my ears so that I can wear the clip-ons while I work at the torch, and also helped me pick out a new frame for a second pair of glasses.

Here are the new frames I picked:

I toyed briefly with the idea of getting the same frame, but in cherry red, but I decided I'd get bored with the idea of BRIGHT red glasses pretty quickly.

I was overwhelmed my the number of frames with 'bling' on them.
Honestly, why would I want rhinestones or diamantes on my glasses? I
even object to the fact the frames I got have the brand name on the
side, however that was the least offensive of the crimes.

    Maybe I'm getting old?

    *gasp*

  • I like them! Good choice

  • LOL! When describing the UV and IR coatings, bling and so forth you sounded exactly like a cyclist, I expected them to be made of titanium or Carbon Fiber :D
You can get an elastic band pretty cheaply (in the States there's a brand called Croakies that I use) that holds the glasses in place.

I know what you mean about the brand names. If I wanted "Tommy" on my shirt I would change my name! Seems like they should be paying you to advertise for them.

  • they're very cute~! I should've gotten those colors instead of my pale pink.. T_T

  • I like those glasses, and I agree about brand names.

  • I like the shape of the frames. If only the shafts for plain black as well...

When I was choosing new frames, I didn't want the brand name to be screaming out from the frames. The frames I chose are though Bjorn Borg ones but the name is nowhere visible on the frames. (I would never buy Bjorn Borg bags for the fact that the name is so friggin' big on those bags -- if I'm suppose to advertise the brand, they should PAY ME to walk around with the name on the bag.)
