Busy day.
Been busy at work, as well as making the time to get quotes for a moving van/moving men to help us with the move next weekend, as well as quotes for steam cleaning the carpets in our unit (a condition of the lease).
We really don’t have the cash to get moving men, but we also don’t want to harrass our limited stock of friends into coming and carrying our stuff. I think we’ve decided we’ll get a moving van to take the big items (beds, washing machine, dressers etc) and we’ll pack everything else into boxes and take them ourselves.
We also got quotes on a new fridge, but if we are paying for a moving van we really can’t afford a new one, so we’ll have to hope our old one makes it through the move, and that’ll limp along a few weeks longer.
Also, because of my asthma I can’t use oven cleaner, so I’m hoping we can get the oven cleaned by a professional as well.
Man this moving business is expensive!
Our plans are this.
This Saturday morning, get up early and go to the shopping center for TK’s new shoes/grocery shopping. Allow TK/Ross enough time to buy me a mothers day gift. Maybe take the time to look at fridges.
Go home via car yard, and pick up my new car. (yay!)
Go to the unit and fill both cars up with a load of boxes. Take them to the new house. Go back to the unit and spend the rest of the day packing.
Sleep.
Sunday morning, (mothers day) get breakfast in bed (early) and spend the rest of the day packing. Maybe get a video in the evening to relax.
During the upcoming week. Continue to pack each evening.
Friday: Ross’ll take the day off work and the moving van will come and take the large items. Ross’ll also pack his car up and take a load over to the new house.
Saturday: Ross and I will do as many trips in the car with boxes as necessary, possibly hire a trailer.
Sunday: Unpacking at the new house/cleaning at the old place.
Monday, I’ll take the day off work and take TK to his new school, I’ll have to arrange uniforms etc while I am there.
Afterwards I’ll drive over to the old house and meet the professional cleaners there and let them in to do the steam cleaning/oven, and make sure the unit is ready for inspection by the rental agency.
After that, it’s settling into the new house. Maybe we’ll even have a party.
Hurrah!
(I so can’t wait for the next week and a half to be done with.)

Yikes. Busy, busy girl!
Congratulations on the house.

It sure sounds like you're going to be busy for the next few moments. We will understand if you don't have as much time here at Xanga...
Anyway, I'm wishing you all the best for this whole moving ordeal. It's good that you've planned it out well -- that's half the job done. And don't worry, even if something seems almost impossible now, it's not because things have a way to sort themselves... Yeah, I know. I'm ever-optimistic!
Never a dull moment huh
Good luck with your move.
Moving is such a pain in the butt. But I love settling in to a new place.
Good luck with the move.
I don't see "Christening the new house" in there anywhere....
*sniff*
Um... Why doesn't Ross clean the oven? *puzzled look*
Sounds like a busy week ahead. Hope the move goes well, and you have a great mothers day.
peace

How many sleeps until it's all over?
