A couple of days back, I mentioned having made a swap of one of my paintings for one of vcrimson's photos -- because, although she doesn't seem to believe it, what she see's through the camera lens is art.
She mentioned in my post that she'd had the painting framed and was really happy with it, so I asked to see a photograph.
Now, I don't normally say things like this (about my paintings), but it looks great! She choose a fabulous frame that really brings out the colours in the painting.

Now, this is the painting scanned:
Hasn't the frame brought out the colours?
I'm thrilled.
Hurrah! *doing the deevaa dance*
In other news the handover for our new house was yesterday, we can move in any time after Monday. Can you believe it? (I can't!)
*more dancing*
Wanna hear a funny story?
I thought so.
Each weekend when we've been out to see the progress on the house, Ross has been stealing bricks off a pile that's been out the front.
You can see the pile here:
So, Ross has been stealing a few bricks 'just in case' we also thought we'd be able to use them for some paving we want to do. Anyways.
We have a stash of these bricks in our carport at the flat we are in now, and when we went to the handover yesterday the pile of bricks was still there at the house, so Ross asked when they'd be cleared.
House hand over man "Oh no, those ones are for you guys, we ordered a few too many, you've paid for them so we are leaving them here for you."
Ross has been stealing bricks that were going to give us anyways!
*giggling*

So the house isn't officially done for another 80 or so days (?) but you can move in anyways? Awesome!
And you're absolutely right, that frame makes your painting look even better. The colors are so vivid!
Wow Deev the painting does look great!
Moving (literally) on to the house. I hope that you guys really enjoy your new home.
Going home to our near new house (it's about 7 months old now) is just a buzz every night. I could gush about it all day...
Good luck with the move...
blahahah!
ok, that is funny.
(And that frame is sooo perfect for that painting)
Feith
LMAO!
I love that painting...
I know what you mean about the fram bringing out the color. I hated a set of paintings I did, and then my BF set them down on a white poster board and the whites popped out and the painting looked great.
I was impressed so much, that I began to scan or take digital photographs of the paintings and play around with different 'Mat' and 'Frame' styles in Photoshop. It really makes me feel better about the choice I make when I frame them.
That was funny
Love how your painting has come out. Remember too, that photography often is not kind to art. I recall being 'bored' by photos of Rembrandt's work because it looked so dark and dull. Then I saw one in a gallery and stood there for half an hour just marvelling at the colours.
Love the brick story!
