  • I must be getting old, I was up later than normal painting last night, and today my 'painting' shoulder is stiff and sore, even after Argyle rubbed the knots out last night.

On some advice from VeryModern I've been having a good long think about what I really want - from life, from my job - and I've decided to add a few new key words to my job search.

Even if you don't believe in Astrology I think the advice she gave me was pretty sound. What I really want at this stage of my life is to be moving into the arts scene. I don't mean I want to launch myself as a full time artist now, but I've been thinking maybe it'd be good to start being around other artists or gallery owners - you know - the people on the 'inside'. The buyers, the shakers the movers.

For example - I think doing dtp/catalogue work for a gallery or auction house would be fascinating, or using my design/display skills to work in a museum. I used to work for a large store in Wellington (NZ), doing window display work, I enjoyed the work, but found the whole experience pretty shallow. Add to that shallow display work researching displays for a museum or gallery, and I think you'd have a pretty interesting job.

So anyways, starting this morning, I'm adding to my search the keywords 'gallery', 'museum' and 'auction'.

After that, I'm going to put a wheatie bag on my shoulder and have a cup of coffee and watch cooking shows for a bit.
