Just got back from another job interview.
This one is weird cause on Monday I sent off an email (in response to a paragraph long ad posted at seek.com.au) asking to be sent the job description for the position.
I got an email back saying "Sorry I am not able to send a job description out, until I have interviewed you.
See, I think this is just plain weird, cause how do I know I want to apply for the position until I have seen the full job description? So anyways, I send them in the 'budget' version of my resume. For jobs I'm pretty keen on I tailor my cover letter, since I didn't know much about this job I send in the basics, you know?
So yesterday the recruitment agency phones me.
"Can you come in for an interview?"
"sure, when would be a good time?'
"Now? This afternoon?"
I say I can't go in that afternoon (I don't have a car), but I could first thing this morning. She's fine with this, but explains that the recruitment agency have already put forward some people for an interview and the company involved are already interviewing them so, at this stage I'm going to be a late starter, but they seem to think from my resume I might be right for the job, so she'll interview me, and if she still thinks I'm right send me along to the company.
Well, the interview with the recruitment agency went really well, and the woman said she'll put my name forward for the position, she thinks I'm 'perfect'. That's what she said. She said - "I think you'd be perfect for the job" then she backtracks... "well, I think you are totally qualified for this".
The she goes on to explain that I'll be interviewed by two people from the company, the person in charge of the department the job is with, and the *cough* staff psychologist. Ah yes. They have a staff psychologist.
*raises an eyebrow*
Anyways, it's only a 6mth contract, but it sounds interesting. As usual I'll keep you posted.
